Stock Up On Winter Appropriate Textiles: Stay warm with fuzzy blankets, and soft pillows. Make sure to have plenty of extras on hand for guests (especially overnight guests). Even if you already have a closet full of throw blankets and pillows, make sure you’re swapping out your summer or fall textiles for winter appropriate ones. Wool, shag, fur, and knit materials will keep you much cozier than delicate materials like silk or cotton.

SHOP WINTER TEXTILES:

Warm Up With Whites: Decorating with white is the easiest way to lighten up any space in the winter. Soft neutrals and monochrome whites can make your room feel bright and cheery even on dark and gloomy nights. To avoid a clinical look, vary your tones of white by mixing taupe with soft creams and eggshell. Adding texture is also very important when using an all-white palette. Mix in natural woods, furs, and textured fabrics to add visual interest. Dark browns and chalky grays add amazing contrast too!

SHOP WINTER WHITES:

Make Your Space Come Alive: Indoor plants and flowers are a great way to breath life into your space, especially in the winter when there’s nothing green in sight. Visit your local nursery or florist to learn which plants/flowers are best for the winter months, or read our indoor plant guide here.

SHOP PLANTS:

Light It Up: Candles add ambiance, soothing aromas, and decorative flair. We love decorating with candles all year round, but in the winter they are an absolute must (especially if you don’t have a fireplace). Cluster candles of different shapes and sizes on a coffee table, or display candle sticks with ornate holders for a romantic feel.
